Credit Union vs. Bank: What's the difference?
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution that is owned by its members. Credit unions offer many of the same services as banks, such as checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and online banking. Because credit unions are member-owned, they are designed to serve their members and the communities they support.
Am I eligible to become a member?
Most people who live, work, study, or worship in our area may qualify for membership. If you’re unsure, we’re happy to help you find out.
What information or documents may be required to open an account?
You may need a valid ID, Social Security Number or ITIN if applicable, contact information, date of birth, residential address, and a minimum deposit, often as low as $25. Requirements vary by product and verification.
